My First trip to Shanghai March 2007

There was the I had my first sense of how huge China was. I was only in the country a few days and I had to travel alone to get a replacement passport! I was scared, I did not know any Chinese and of course I was not sure what to expect there - I soon discovered I was on a step learning curve to survive one of the world's largest cities and also understood the expression to be "Shanghaied". Any since that time I have become quite capable of independent travel in China with the confidence growing especially in the summer of 2007! On this day I had my first experience of Nanjing Road East and the Bund looking across to Pudong with a river cruise.
